  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 or 2 chocolate sq.
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Karo syrup (clear)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions

    Cook first 5 ingredients together slowly until 238° or soft ball stage in cold water.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla and butter.

    Let stand without stirring until lukewarm.

    Beat until creamy and candy has lost all shine.

    Pour onto a greased pan. Cut into squares.
