Chocolate Gravy

Ingredients

  • 8 Tbsp. Hershey's dry cocoa
  • 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavor
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 c. whole milk

Directions

    Throw everything, but vanilla, into a large saucepan.

    Heat at low heat until butter melts.

    Increase heat until mixture boils. Allow mixture to boil for 4 to 7 minutes, stirring constantly. (Beware, it will stick or scorch.) Remove from heat and add vanilla.

    Serve while hot.

    Makes about 1 quart of gravy.

    Unused gravy can be stored in the refrigerator in a fruit jar and used indefinitely.
