    Preheat the oven to 175C.

    Sift the flour with the cocoa, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

    Cream the butter with the sugar and add the eggs, one at a time, while beating continuously.

    Add the milk, vanilla extract, and the dry ingredients; beat until the batter is thick and creamy.

    Pour the batter into a 24 centimeter buttered and floured cake pan.
