- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 c. flaked coconut
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. quick oats
Directions

1In heavy 2-quart saucepan, melt butter or margarine and chocolate.

2Add sugar and milk.

3Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved and thoroughly blended. Remove from heat and stir in nuts, coconut and vanilla.

4Fold in oats.

5Cool mixture to medium-warm.

6Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls.

7Place on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets.

8Chill until firm.

9Makes about 6 dozen.
