- 2/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. Hershey cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 12 to 14 small peppermint patties
Directions

1In a large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar, add egg and vanilla, blending well.

2In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

3Add to butter mixture alternately with milk; blend well.

4Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

5Mold dough over patties and cover completely.

6Place on a greased cookie sheet.

7Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.

8Cool for 1 minute on cookie tray, then remove to wire rack.

9Cool completely.
