- 4 c. (two 12 oz. bags) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. applesauce (unsweetened)
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. Egg Beaters
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. pecan pieces
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

3Put 3 cups of chocolate chips and water into saucepan.

4Place over low heat until melted.

5Stir occasionally.

6Place chocolate mixture into bowl.

7Add applesauce and beat with electric mixer.

8Add sugar and eggs until blended.

9Beat in flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.

10Add remaining chocolate chips and nuts.

11Pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

12Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out moist, not wet.

13Cool and cut into 24 squares.
