Chocolate Outrage Snack Cake

  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/3 c. oatmeal (uncooked)
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine butter or margarine, oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, eggs, walnuts and vanilla.

    Beat 3 minutes at medium speed until fluffy.

    Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

    Spread batter in an 8-inch square micro-safe pan.

    Cover with wax paper; microwave on High 4 minutes.

    Rotate 1/4 turn; microwave on High 4 to 5 minutes or until top appears dry and bottom is an even color. Sprinkle remaining chips over top of warm cake.

    Let stand 10 minutes and spread evenly over cake.
