  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate (German chocolate may be used)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

    Melt chocolate and butter over low heat.

    In another saucepan combine sugar and syrup.

    Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

    Boil for 2 minutes.

    Add chocolate mixture.

    Add eggs and vanilla, stirring constantly.

    Add pecans and mix in well. Pour mixture into pie shell.

    Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes or until filling is puffed completely across top.
