  • 44 vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 sq. chocolate, melted
  • 3 egg yolks, unbeaten
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 egg whites, beaten stiff

Directions

    Crush 22 vanilla wafers and line pie pan.

    Cream butter and sugar together.

    Add melted chocolate and beat just to blend.

    Add egg yolks and beat until a fluffy mixture.

    Add chopped nuts and vanilla.

    Fold in egg whites.

    Pour into pie pan.

    Crush the other 22 vanilla wafers and sprinkle over filling.

    Chill overnight (nice to be able to make it the day before you serve it).

    Serve with Cool Whip.
