   and 2 cups milk on in double boiler and

   bring to

   scalding point.

   Beat egg yolks and add other 1/2 cup milk;

   stir

   into

    hot mixture.

    When done, add butter and vanilla.

    Pour

    into crust.

    Top with meringue made from egg whites and brown.
