- 4 eggs (whites for top)
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. sweet milk
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix flour with sugar.

2Mix cocoa with sugar and flour. Gradually add milk.

3Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.

4Cook 2 minutes.

5Remove from heat.

6Add a small amount to slightly beaten egg yolks.

7Stir gradually into remaining hot mixture.

8Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.

9Add vanilla.

10Cool slightly.

11Pour into baked pastry shell.

12Cool.

13Cover with meringue.

14Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 12 to 15 minutes.
