- 1 3/4 c. sugar, divided
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- baked pie shell
- 2 c. milk
- 4 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. melted cooled margarine or butter
- 1/2 tsp. cream tartar for meringue
Directions

1Combine 1 1/4 cups sugar, flour and cocoa.

2Combine milk, egg yolks, melted margarine or butter.

3Beat with wire whisk. Gradually add milk mixture to sugar mixture.

4Stir until smooth. Cook chocolate mixture over medium heat until thick and bubbly (10 minutes).

5Make meringue with remaining sugar, egg whites and cream of tartar.

6Bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
