- 3/4 c. sugar
- 7 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 rounded Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 pt. milk
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) cooked pastry shell
Directions

1Mix sugar, flour, cocoa and salt in top of a double boiler. Add milk slowly and stir and cook over heat until boiling point is reached.

2Place over hot water and cook approximately 20 minutes. Add well beaten egg yolks and butter; cook for 2 minutes.

3Remove from heat and add vanilla.

4Cool and turn into cooked pastry shell.

5Spread with meringue made from egg whites and bake until meringue is brown.
