  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

    Sift all dry ingredients together 4 or 5 times.

    Set aside. Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs one at a time and beat well.

    Add flavoring, then add flour that has been sifted together with dry ingredients alternately with milk.

    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325°.
