- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs (room temperature)
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time.

3Beat well.

4Sift dry ingredients (including cocoa).

5Add alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour.

6Pour into tube pan.

7Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8Do not overbake.
