- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening.

2Add sugar; mix well.

3Add eggs and half of dry ingredients, then add milk.

4Add remainder of dry ingredients and vanilla; beat well.

5Pour into tube pan.

6Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

7Allow cake to cool for about 1 hour before removing from pan.

8Will keep 1 to 1 1/2 weeks wrapped in refrigerator.
