- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs, unbeaten
- 3 c. sifted plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 small can evaporated milk
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Cream butter and oil; add sugar gradually; beating well.

2Add eggs one at a time.

3Beat well after each egg.

4Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa three times.

5Finish making 1 cup with water added to evaporated milk.

6Add flour and milk alternately, ending with flour.

7Put vanilla in the milk.

8Grease and flour a tube pan.

9Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
