- 1/2 cup crisco
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter and crisco together.

2Add sugar - one cup at a time.

4Add eggs - one at a time.

5Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together.

6Add flour and milk slowly. Begin with flour and end with flour using low speed - Add vanilla. Bake at 325° for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
