  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream butter and crisco together.

    Add sugar - one cup at a time.

    Add eggs - one at a time.

    Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together.

    Add flour and milk slowly. Begin with flour and end with flour using low speed - Add vanilla. Bake at 325° for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
