  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour (plain)
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon

    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

    Add to creamed mixture alternating with milk.

    Mix well; add vanilla and lemon flavor. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
