- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 cube margarine
- 3 1/2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl.

2Put margarine, cocoa, water and shortening in heavy saucepan and bring to boil.

3Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix together well.

4Add remaining ingredients.

5Mix well and pour into prepared (greased and floured) 11 x 16-inch pan.

6Bake 20 minutes at 400°.
