  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

  1. 1
    Bring butter, cocoa, shortening
  2. 2
    and 1 cup of water to a boil. Then pour mixture over the flour, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well and add the buttermilk, vanilla and 1 teaspoon salt. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
