  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. Nestle Quik cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar and salt.

    Set aside.

    Boil together oleo, cocoa, water and shortening in a saucepan.

    Pour cocoa mixture over dry ingredients and beat well.

    Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla.

    Thoroughly mix.

    Grease and flour an 11 x 16-inch cookie sheet.

    Bake 20 minutes at 400°.
