  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening or oil
  • 8 tsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 tsp. milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 2/3 c. pecans

Directions

    Sift together flour and sugar.

    Mix and boil 1 stick butter, shortening, 4 teaspoons cocoa and water, then add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla.

    Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in an 11 x 17 pan at 375° for 15 minutes.
