  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Sift together sugar and flour.

    In saucepan, bring to boil oleo, Crisco, water, cocoa and vanilla.

    Add boiled mixture to flour and sugar.

    Mix.

    Add buttermilk, soda and eggs.

    Mix and pour in a greased and floured jelly roll pan at 400° for 20 minutes.

    Frost immediately.
