  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Bring water, cocoa, oil and oleo to a boil.

    Sift flour, sugar and salt in mixing bowl.

    Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients.

    Add the remaining ingredients, eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla, while mixing.

    Grease and flour cake pan.

    Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and bake at 350° for about 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
