Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 4 or 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8 baked tart shells

Directions

    Blend together sugar, cocoa and cornstarch.

    Add beaten egg yolks and milk.
  3. 3
    Cook until mixture comes to a hard boil, stirring constantly.

    When thickened, add vanilla and pour into baked tart shells.

    Top with meringue and brown lightly in 475° oven.

    Yields 8 tarts.
