- 6 sq. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. whipping cream
- 1 beaten egg yolk
- 3 Tbsp. desired liquor * or whipping cream
- 1 lb. dipping chocolate or confectioners coating
Directions

1In a heavy 2-quart saucepan combine semi-sweet chocolate, butter or margarine and 3 tablespoons whipping cream.

2Cook over low heat, stirring constantly; until chocolate is melted.

3This should take about 10 minutes.

4Remove saucepan from heat. Gradually stir about half of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolk.

5Return egg mixture to saucepan.

6Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

7This should take about 2 minutes.

8Remove saucepan from heat.

9Stir in desired liquor or 3 tablespoons whipping cream.

10Transfer chocolate mixture to a small mixer bowl.

11Chill about 1 hour or until mixture is completely cool and smooth, stirring occasionally.

12Beat the cooled chocolate mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until slightly fluffy.

13This should take about 2 minutes.

14Chill about 15 minutes or until mixture holds its shape.

15Drop mixture from a level teaspoon onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper.

16Chill about 30 minutes more or until firm.

17Melt dipping chocolate.

18Dip candy into the melted chocolate.

19Let stand until dry.

20Store tightly covered in a cool, dry place.
