- 2 lb. cubed beef, pork or veal (or 1 lb. beef, 1/2 lb. pork and 1/2 lb. veal)
- 2 large onions
- 3 c. chopped celery
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 4 c. boiling water
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 4 c. tomato juice
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- large can bean sprouts
- 2 cans water chestnuts, sliced
Directions

1Brown meat and onion in hot oil.

2Add rest of ingredients, except bean sprouts and water chestnuts.

3Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water.

4Simmer 30 minutes.

5Add bean sprouts and water chestnuts.

6Simmer 20 to 30 minutes longer.

7Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
