Ingredients

  • 4 c. onions
  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 10 green tomatoes
  • 12 pods green pepper
  • 6 pods red sweet pepper
  • 6 pods hot pepper
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 4 c. cider vinegar
  • 2 c. water

    Grind or chop vegetables; sprinkle with salt.

    Let stand overnight, then rinse and drain.

    Combine remaining ingredients; pour over vegetables and heat to boiling.

    Simmer for 3 minutes. Pack in jars and seal.

    Makes 9 pints.
