- 2 c. onions, sliced lengthwise
- 3 c. celery
- 1 can bamboo shoots, drained
- 1 lb. pork, beef, shrimp or chicken, sliced thin
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 3/4 c. mushrooms
- 1 can bean sprouts (1 lb.), drained
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 5 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 3/4 c. soup stock
Directions

1In a large skillet, brown meat slowly until done in 1 tablespoon of oil. Remove from heat.

2In another pan, simmer the onions in 1 tablespoon oil briefly.

3Add meat.

4Saute the bamboo shoots and mushrooms and add to meat.

5Saute the celery slightly. All vegetables should be a bit crunchy. Add to meat.

6Finally, add the bean sprouts.

7Make a mixture of the sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce and soup stock and add to meat mixture, beating thoroughly and stirring. Serve over rice or noodles.
