- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla

1Cook

2all the ingredients, except the vanilla, to the soft ball stage, or 235°.

3Remove from heat; add vanilla and pour into a buttered 8-inch pan.

4When cold, turn out and cut into squares. Wrap each square individually in wax paper or plastic wrap.

5For chocolate caramels, use 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 3 squares chocolate.
