Ingredients

  • 6 cups golden raisins
  • 2 1/2 cups currants
  • 2 1/4 cups raisins, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups pitted dates, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups prunes, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups glace cherries, quartered
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crystallised ginger, chopped
  • 1/2 cup candied mixed citrus peel
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored and grated
  • 2/3 cup fig jam
  • 2 tbsp grated orange peel
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mixed spice, such as pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/4 cups Grand Marnier, rum or brandy

    Combine all ingredients in large bowl; mix well. Cover tightly. Store in a cool, dark place at least overnight or for up to a month, stirring occasionally.
