  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. red cinnamon candies (red hots)
  • few drops red food coloring
  • apples, pared and cored

Directions

    In a saucepan, make a syrup of sugar, water, cinnamon candies and food coloring.

    Cook apples in the syrup until tender. Chill apples and serve as a salad or a meat garnish.

    Reserve syrup and serve on pancakes, waffles and French toast.
