Cinnamon Rice Pudding

  • 2 None cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 2/3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 None egg
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup short grain rice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter, sliced into small pieces

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 325°F. Put the cinnamon sticks and milk in a saucepan and bring them to a boil. Remove the cinnamon sticks from the milk. Whisk the cream, egg and 2 tbsp of sugar and combine it with the warm milk. Grease a shallow ovenproof dish (approx. 6 cup volume) with butter and add the rice. Add the milk mixture over the rice and bake the pudding for 1 hour.

    Mix 2 tbsp of sugar with the ground cinnamon. After 30 mins of cooking add the butter slices to the pudding and sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. Serve hot or cold.
