- 3/4 c. finely chopped onions
- 1/3 c. butter
- 3 c. chopped potatoes
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 4 c. half and half or cream and milk
- 5 cans minced clams
- 1 large can evaporated milk
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. rosemary
Directions

1Saute onions in butter until golden brown; add potatoes and 1 1/2 cups of water.

2Cook until tender.

3Set aside to cool.

4Add butter to flour.

5Stir in half and half, spices, clams, cooked potato mixture and evaporated milk.

6Simmer 30 to 45 minutes and add a pat of butter to each steaming mug of chowder.
