- One half pound of bacon, fried and cut in pieces
- 2 tsp. bacon drippings
- 1 medium onion, cut up
- 8 small potatoes cut up in chunks (we leave on the peel)
- 1 pint fresh clams with liquor (juice) cut in small pieces
- 2 celery stalks, cut in small pieces
- 4 and one half cups of water
- 2 8-oz. bottles of clam juice
- Salt and fresh ground pepper

1In a large pot, cook onions in bacon drippings. Add all other ingredients to pot and heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 50 minutes or until potatoes are tender
