  • 1 cup distilled or filtered water
  • 3/4 to 1 cups organic cane sugar (less or more depending on sweetness desired)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 cups organic rolled oats (not quick cooking)
  • 2 1/2 cups organic whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 3/4 cups organic dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon organic ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups vegan butter alternative (such as Earth Balance), melted
