- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. old fashioned, rolled oats
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease baking sheet.

3Combine flour, baking soda and salt on wax paper or in a bowl.

4In a large bowl, mix shortening, sugars and vanilla until creamy.

5Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.

6Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats.

7Stir in chocolate chips.
