- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. crushed soda crackers (24)
- 3/4 c. nuts, chopped
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Beat egg whites until frothy; add cream of tartar, then gradually add sugar.

3Beat until stiff peaks form.

4Fold in crushed crackers, nuts and vanilla.

5Spread in well buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch glass baking dish.

6Bake for 25 minutes. Cool in pan on rack.

7When cool, spread thawed whipped topping over crust.

8Spoon cherry pie filling over whipped topping.

9Cover and refrigerate.
