- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. boiling water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Combine shortening, 1/3 cup sugar, salt and boiling water. Let cool to lukewarm.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Add flour and egg.

4Mix well and add to shortening mixture.

5Refrigerate for 3 hours.

6Shape into walnut size balls.

7Blend remaining sugar and cinnamon.

8Dip balls into sugar mixture.

9Layer in rows in tube pan.

10Let rise until doubled in bulk.

11Bake at 475° for 40 minutes.
