- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Sour Cream Coconut Filling
Directions

1Beat butter at medium speed until fluffy and gradually add sugar, beating well.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating mixture after each addition.

3Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

4Mix just until blended after each addition.

5Stir in vanilla.

6Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.

7Bake at 350° for 18 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

8Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes.

9Remove from pans and let cool completely on racks.
