- 1 (6 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1In saucepan, combine milk, sugar, butter, egg and dash of salt.

2Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles, about 12 minutes.

3Add remaining ingredients.

4Cool. Frosts top of 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake or two 8-inch layers.
