- 2 c. milk
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. oleo
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- salt to taste
- 3 eggs, separated
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Combine sugar, salt, flour and cornstarch; mix well.

2Slowly add milk, mixing well.

3Cook over medium heat in heavy saucepan, stirring to prevent scorching and lumping.

4When mixture thickens, add oleo and vanilla.

5Then slowly add beaten egg yolks.

6Cook until thick and cool a few minutes and pour into a baked pie shell. Cover with meringue and sprinkle coconut on top.

7Brown in slow oven.
