- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 1 c. water or milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 can flaked coconut
Directions

1Beat shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time.

3Add milk. Combine salt, baking powder and flour; add to sugar mixture.

4Add flavorings and coconut.

5Pour into greased tube pan.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

7Place on rack; cool.

8Cover lightly until cold.
