Cold Oven Pound Cake

  • 2 sticks Miracle Whip margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt (1/2 tsp.)
  • 3 c. flour (plain)
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring or you can use vanilla if you don't like lemon
  • 5 large eggs (add last)

    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until creamy, then add flour and milk (alternate) together.

    Add flavoring.

    Last, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.

    Put in greased and floured tube cake pan.

    Put in cold oven.

    I bake mine at 300° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

    It depends on your oven.

    All ovens are a little different; try it at 325° and if too hot, try 300° and then try 350°.
