- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Grease pan.

2Bake at 300° for 30 minutes. Melt chocolate, butter and sugar and set aside. Cream together Crisco and 1 1/2 cups sugar; add well beaten eggs and vanilla.

3Sift together 3 times, flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.

4Add all to mixture with 1 cup cold water, you can use layer cake pan or sheet.
