  • 2 sq. chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar

    Grease pan.

    Bake at 300° for 30 minutes. Melt chocolate, butter and sugar and set aside. Cream together Crisco and 1 1/2 cups sugar; add well beaten eggs and vanilla.

    Sift together 3 times, flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.

    Add all to mixture with 1 cup cold water, you can use layer cake pan or sheet.
