- collard greens (any green leafy vegetable)
- 2 or 3 slices bacon
- 1 c. water
- about 1 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Place bacon in large heavy kettle.

2Brown carefully.

3Add 1 cup water to hot kettle.

4Put in collards (that have been washed and torn from large stems).

5Turn burner to lowest heat (not simmer).

6Cook 1 hour.

7Add about 1 1/2 cups water before putting lid on to cook.
