- 1 lb. pkg. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 c. nuts (optional)
Directions

1Soften shortening or margarine.

2Beat in brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.

3Then add flour, salt and baking powder.

4Mix in chips and nuts (optional).

5Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in 15 1/2 x 9 1/2-inch pan.
