  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2 1/4 c. light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. broken nutmeats
  • 1 c. chocolate chips

Directions

    Melt shortening; mix in sugar and cool slightly.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating between each.

    Add dry ingredients, mixing well.

    Add nuts and chips.

    Spread batter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned.
