- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 1/4 c. light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. broken nutmeats
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt shortening; mix in sugar and cool slightly.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating between each.

3Add dry ingredients, mixing well.

4Add nuts and chips.

5Spread batter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

6Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned.

7Cut while still warm.

8Makes 48 squares.
