- 2/3 c. butter or shortening (1 stick plus 3 Tbsp.)
- 1 lb. brown sugar (2 1/4 c.)
- 2 2/3 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt butter in saucepan.

2Add brown sugar and stir until blended.

3Remove from heat and cool about 10 minutes.

4Beat in eggs, one at a time.

5Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

6Stir in flour mixture, nuts and chocolate chips.

7Mix well. Spread in greased 10 x 13-inch pan or 10 x 15-inch.

8Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350° to 375°.

9Cut into squares when slightly cooled.
